’tis the season for thinking of others before ourselves and so i thought this edition of new & noteworthy might earmark some of my favorite gift ideas for the season. and if one or two of these beauties slipped into your own home, no one will be the wiser. so, shhh. i’ve also tried to purposely select items from small creative makers and businesses, my favorite way to shop.

2. thirty one bits has launched their new homewares collection handmade in bali and uganda and i had to have their ceramic Deco Serving Bowls — just in time for holiday get togethers. they come in both beautiful Matte Black and white.

3. these domi white leather slippers from lost and found would make someone very happy indeed. comfy for sure, but so very chic, too; 4. These recycled mudcloth print notebooks from raven & lily provide the perfect canvas for notes, to-do lists, or sketches. and the Uzma paper journals are handmade from recycled cotton and help empower artisan women in a community where women traditionally were not educated or employed. 5. these fragrant rope incense from freda are my personal favorite and the closest thing i’ve been able to find to the smell of a real fireplace. extracted from cedar trees they come in a cute red tube and have a very sweet aroma, indeed; 6. terrazzo is hot right now — literally on fire it’s so trendy. but this pretty mountain bud vase is the first of its kind i’ve ever seen, from tantri mustika ceramics.

7. i love these whimsical ceramics from uinverso a Young design studio based in brazil. from artistic duo Nadiuska and Priscila Furtado, their projects consist mainly of faces, drawn in 2D and then reinterpreted in ceramics.

8. if you’re splurging on someone you really hold near and dear, and wouldn’t mind getting even closer to, this gatsby throw from saved ny could be just the thing to warm their hearts. so lovely!

A safe and cozy house for your kid’s toys and clothes or use it as a handsome laundry bag. adorable design; 10. i don’t know about you, but another thing i never get around to buying myself — knives. and i would really enjoy having a decent set of kitchen knives. this OpinelLes Essentiels Kitchen Set from france is right up my alley; 11. 200 women is a book i’d love to own.
