welcome to a very colorful friday finds, friends. one of my faithful readers mentioned that i hadn’t shared much color lately, and heaven forbid that be true, but commentor — this post’s for you! i may have taken it to the extreme with these whimsical bursts of color, but hey it’s the weekend, let’s go nuts. have a great one and i’ll see you back here on monday.

xo, victoria

  1. that talented design duo at the block shop is at it again, this time with a beautiful new collection of woodblock prints. they’ve partnered with Craftboat, a woman-run printing and papermaking studio in Sanganer, Rajasthan, on this very first edition of woodblock prints on colored paper.
  2. there’s definitely a lot going on in this bedroom, from the ground on up! but i really love the vintage vibes and the really textural look to this many prints and patterns.
  3. i like the idea of two-toned walls like this color-blocked bedroom featured on elle france. deep coral pink walls paired with a softer pale pink ceiling creates a colorful but really cozy sleeping space.
  4. once a dull drab industrial printing plant in paris, it’s hard to believe the colorful makeover it’s been given. vtwonen features this inspiring home tour if you’d like to see the full transformation.
  5. this home has a whole lotta color going on, too, but again i like the pairing of these different patterns to liven up this little library nook. its owner says he would only eat Coco Pops when he was a kid, three times a day — makes sense when you look at his space.
  6. rachel castle is nothing if not colorful. from her beautiful paintings and prints to her bedlinen designs everything she creates is bound to put a smile on your face and a skip in your step.
  7. how’s this for colorful? i’d never have dreamed up an ombre painted bookshelf (especially a circular one!) but this is definitely statement-making, and i like that she’s kept the trinkets on display to a well-curated minimum.
  8. and how about this kitchen for color-blocking? could you pick out these two colors in a paint store and come home and make it happen? takes a brave soul, and the right kinda house, but it looks pretty cool.

  1. I was so glad to see this post! I have been following you for a few years now and every day I look forward to your posts. However I was getting discouraged by the lack of color. Your images are beautiful, but minimalism, japanese pottery, white and black with light wood can only go so far. Even the pictures with colorful furnishings are always muted – muted beige, brown, orchid etc. Let your inner bohemian out again! You have given me so many great home ideas and I look forward to many more.

  2. I really appreciate this post, as well! The Scandinavian design trend is lovely, but I miss seeing lots of color in homes. It definitely makes for more variety. Keep sharing all of the colors!
