design down under keeps on kicking ass, so today we’re headed to the Melbourne, australia suburb of Collingwood for a sweet, tasty treat. we’re getting dressed for the very darling, 1950’s italia-inspired piccolina gelateria. what could be more italian than red, green and gelato?! Local interior design firm Hecker Guthrie has literally transformed this former pawn shop into la dolce vita, enhancing the building’s stunning original architecture including a stone arch, terrazzo floor and pretty pressed tin ceiling. piccolina serves up 20 regular flavours, including four vegan ones, alongside four special varieties depending on the day. we decided to get funky with it wearing a distressed leather shirt, sassy plaid pants and our favorite red sneakers. looking for something to read as you lick? try Rebecca Kauffman’s the gunners — with vividly unforgettable characters, you’ll find yourself thinking of Freaks and Geeks, The Big Chill, and maybe all those friends you’ve been meaning to text.

I love this Place. It’s so cool I’m sure that the ice won’t melt. I’m curious about how the people working there experience it.
