still wishing you were away in a holiday home somewhere other than here busy getting back into it all? yeah, me too — and this fire island home will fit the bill just fine, thank you. i imagine it to be a so cozy in the winter months and i could settle in by that beautiful white brick fireplace quite nicely with a stack of design magazines or a good book. featured recently on maryn, i was inspired right away by that white on white look with divine vintage vibes — and the fact that you can only get to this shingled cottage by the sea via ferry ride sounds pretty idyllic indeed.

I, too, have a white fire place, but instead of a hot roaring fire (one I would really appreciate right now, by the way), I have books instead. Doh. Anyway, thanks for sharing pics of this lovely and bright cottage. It is clearly perfect for these short winter days. So inspiring!
I absolutely adore this cottage…it makes me want to leave California and head east for a delicious fire and a good read
me too!
Thanks for your kind words! A treat for me to have our cozy little cottage pop up in my mail while I am shivering away in wintery grey NYC! Only 12 weeks / 84 days or 2016 hours til we’re back there, but who’s counting?! Love your design eye and inspiring blog and deeply flattered for you to feature our simple home here.
thank YOU! it’s such a lovely little cottage – i’m quite envious!! thank you so much for the kind words, as well. cheers!
