Prop stylist Anne Parker might be one of the first Instagram accounts I started following long ago, and she’s been inspiring me all these years through her travel photos of places like Lebanon and Mexico, as well as the cozy interior spaces she features. Several of the photos featured are of her home in Portland, Oregon, where’s she’s created a grounding, warm-toned oasis full of vintage wares, hand-thrown pottery, and casual, artistic charm. It seems like the perfect hideout from the rain and reminds me of a tiny studio home I visited, about 300-350 square feet and tucked away in the attic of an old barn, that belonged to my friend, who was a farmer, cheesemonger and fisherman. Although both homes differ in aesthetics, my friend’s simple little nook is one of the most nurturing, personal and restorative spaces I’ve ever visited. And while I haven’t been to Anne’s home, these photos give me a familiar vibe and an urge to surround myself with lots of tea, stacks of well-loved books in wonky baskets, and a few collected reminders of my travels.

cheers, ezz.

One response to “the stylists: anne parker.”

  1. She is literally my favorite stylist in all the land, to the point that when someone else rented her former apartment and blogged about it, or Instagrammed or whatever, I commented that it looked exactly like Anne Parker’s apartment! Turns out it was.
