i guess today’s theme is all about getting away because we’ve got another destination for you wanderers. homes to love recently featured this charming Waterfront Heritage Cabin in tasmania, an isolated island state off Australia’s south coast. quite nautical in its motif and run by sarah andrews, a seafaring sailor herself, it’s no wonder it’s called Captain’s Rest. she restored the cozy cabin herself, and excellent news for those of us traveling down under, it’s available to rent via airbnb. if you know me, i’m a sucker for a vintage painted portrait, so sarah’s collection had me at ahoy! i love all the white shiplap, too and that location just can’t be beat — rain or shine, doesn’t it look like a dreamy spot to get away from it all? for more details on this adorable abode, visit homes to love and see rental details on airbnb — and should you need a rental discount, use my airbnb link.

  1. What a unique, gorgeous cottage! Sarah clearly had so much fun restoring and styling, and she did it brilliantly. I would love to stay there!

  2. A lovely home in a perfect setting. Many people are unaware that not all of our country is tropical/sub tropical and that we have beautiful cool climate areas as well. Many Australians escape to Tassie for a cool change.
