i’m a fan of jenni kayne’s beautiful clothing and homeware collections, but i also love her blog rip & tan, too. on it, she provides a behind the scenes glimpse into some very talented and inspiring women and this visit was no different. this is the mojave desert home of designer and artist Eefje Theeuws. eefje designs a custom collection of hand-formed dinnerware and sacred vessels inspired by the elegance of the nature that surrounds her, named Materia Lumina which translates as ‘Illuminated Earth’. her home is lovely — wide open and inviting and definitely suited to its rustic, california desert environment. for the full tour, visit rip & tan and follow Materia Lumina on instagram.

Love her Cali style and her blog. thanks for the inspiration! I’m a natural dyer but also worked in interiors and sometimes still do. I also write a blog and sometimes i feel like it’s not ok to want to do it all or to be interested in textiles, interiors and art, plus blogging! People like Jenny make me realize it’s ok to embrace it all and go toward my natural instincts.
sure, be a renaissance woman! :)
