friday greetings, friends. what have you got planned for yourself this weekend? i’m off to see once upon a time in hollywood tonight at the cinerama dome and most excited to check it out. it’s also the pasadena city college flea market this sunday, so if you’re on the hunt for vintage treasures, be sure and stop by. have a wonderful weekend, whatever you do!

xo, victoria

  1. this incredible loft space has always had my heart. i just love the idea of these gorgeous pillars popping up unexpectedly throughout the space. featured on sight unseen, it’s the loft home of Daniela Jacobs of arc objects and you should check it out if you’ve never had a look.
  2. i’m also really into sculptures right now, and i love this image photographed by romain laprade (and i love those vintage-looking draperies as a backdrop). i keep hunting the french flea markets for some good ones for super marché (and for moi).
  3. i love this shuttered window nook. why don’t we build homes with this kind of charm and architectural interest anymore? let’s bring back the nuanced nooks!
  4. i’m always up for a beautiful glass display case to share all our collectibles and this one is a mid-century modern beauty. i quite like the styling and that floor lamp, too. très chic.
  5. these are also beautiful mid-century modern pieces and they look like they may be built-ins, but i’m not 100% on that. it’s the lovely home of John & Juli Baker of Mjölk (Milk) in toronto, Canada. that creative duo has great taste, so be sure and check out their sweet shop.
  6. i’m still rather obsessed with the idea of having one of these beautiful paper lanterns in my home, but i kinda want an oversized one in my bathroom over the tub. crazy? could be — i’m not entirely sure how it would survive steam and water, but they aren’t expensive if ultimately doomed. hmmmm?
  7. one of my favorite lighting designers in lyon-based woe and wee collection and i love their latest wall sconce installation at Tinah Paris, gorgeous apartments for rent in the 2nd arrondissement of paris. looks so cozy!
  8. you know how i adore a built-in bookcase and i like how this one frames the door to the kitchen, really uplifting the whole look, and a perfect spot for cookbooks.

  1. O my goodness, that shuttered nook is straight out of Pattern Language by Christopher Alexander et al. Have you ever read it? It is brilliant for its spelling out patterns humans are drawn too that work (and don’t!) in architecture,

I’m conflicted about flea markets these days after decluttering…I want to bring home so many things and trying to be more minimalist.

  2. Please disregard my previous question. I am sorry, I wasn’t paying attention and didn’t initially notice your notes above.
