this may come as a bit of a surprise to you, but i’ve been strongly considering selling my echo park home and moving to the beach. as i get older, i dream of a slower life and specifically one near the water. i think it’s just in my roots, since my dad was a beach lover and we spent every weekend at the ocean. i’m actually headed out today to look at a couple of cottages in laguna beach so i’ve been seeing surf vibes in my brain, thinking about what a life seaside might be like and today’s friday finds are all about that kind of vibe. i’ll keep you posted! have a dreamy weekend, everyone.

xo, victoria

  1. @kendrasmoot and her fabulous home have always been an inspiration to me. it’s very vintage-inspired with just the right amount of surf vibes thrown in making it the perfect northern california hideaway.
  2. this white-washed home in portugal photographed so beautifully by @montedapalmeira has all the right stuff — it instantly feels serene and has me dreaming of creating a minimal, zen little spot like this.
  3. i love this unique kitchen cabinetry with its mesh cabinet doors, sharing just a peek of the colorful collection of pottery and kitchen accouterment. quite a charming look indeed — and i love the splash of blue glasses and yellow serving pieces.
  4. i’ve recently become a big fan of vintage crochet and this little laundry line just made me happy. lately, we’ve been finding vintage crochet throws at the flea markets in france and hand-dying them black for bed throws for a dramatic and different twist.
  5. this beautifully styled capture by photographer lauren bamford just oozes summer vibes. it makes me want to fix up the perfect outdoor picnic and dine al fresco. check out her entire portfolio for some really inspiring photography.
  6. this beautifully calm space is owned by @mimchou_. and if you love it like i do, a cup of jo featured her entire home, so pop on over there if you’d like to see more of this really beautiful copenhagen home.
  7. apartment therapy recently featured this tiny house and it couldn’t be more charming. i’m not sure i could pare down enough to live in a tiny home, but i love the incredibly challenging concept of living with less.
  8. when we were in italy i fell in love with all the beautiful striped beach umbrellas, so i love this photography by chantal anderson of beach umbrellas on the italian rivera. if you’re looking for a cute beach umbrella, try both kerry cassill and sunday supply.

  1. yes! what a wonderful option to have to be able to live near the beach – its where we all began and it calls us ! what a wonderful new adventure ! Good luck on the hunting!

  2. By all means follow your dream, Victoria. The beach, especially one like Laguna, calls to the soul. I loved the days I spent living by the beach in San Diego (three different areas there), as well as hanging out at Laguna, Newport, Corona. I have amazing memories of them all. Cheers, Ardith

  3. Wow, wouldn’t that be wonderful to live by the beach? I love the succulents that grow close to the beach and the salt air. How exciting!
