happy weekend one and all! i’m so happy, settling into my laguna cottage and i think the new atmosphere has infused me with fresh ideas and a new perspective. feels good! i’m almost ready to start sharing with you, i’m just awaiting the arrival of my slipcovered sofa from sixpenny, some killer dining chairs from elsie green and a vintage farm table i found on chairish! soon! i cannot wait to pull it all together and share! have a great weekend!

xo, victoria

  1. i really love this idea for dividing a small apartment and creating a very personal, private sleeping space. it feels a little bit like summer camp, or building forts as a kid and i like the playful, whimsy of it.
  2. my Scandinavian home has a lovely home office makeover featured and i love this little daybed situation. i just set up my new home office and my vintage rattan daybed lives in here now, too. it’s nice when i don’t feel like sitting at my desk to blog horizontally (i’m doing that as i write!).
  3. isn’t this beautiful? it’s a solid recycled teak altar, to lift your everyday objects out of the ordinary. i just love the idea of having a space for meditating or dreaming — a sacred home space. they’re made by furniture designers x + l and they make a few different designs.
  4. okay, i had to share these from x + l, too. i got to their site and went down an inspiring rabbit hole. these cool beauties are gourd pendant lights, handmade in their Amsterdam design studio from dried gourds. fabulous!
  5. this is one good chair. love the shape, love the deep green color — it’s a grand vintage find, all right. i for some reason can never have too many cool chairs.
  6. our new shipment of vintage treasures from france is in for super marché and i cannot wait to load them up on the site! there’s still a few beauties from our last shipment like this sweet bar cart. so petite, so chic and perfect for holiday cocktail parties.
  7. i’m very into big beautiful lanterns right now, and a reader kindly pointed these pretty oversized Linen Fabric Lanterns from marigold interiors. they come in a lovely array of solids, prints and patterns so do have a gander.
  8. how about this for a beautiful collaboration? in their new book In The Touch, creative collaborators Norm Architects and Kinfolk present an alternative: that good design is not only visually appealing but engages all of the human senses. published by gestalten, with stunning photography and interviews with design industry leaders, the book also details philosophical and art history references that reflect the tradition of design and color theory. i’m gonna get my hands on this one.

  1. I love that curtained bed! (Looking forward to hearing any Sixpenny thoughts you have once your sofa arrives! I’ve been daydreaming about squeezing a proper sofa into our place and I love that this one isn’t hugely deep!)

  2. I have a Six Penny sofa and it I love it. The most comfortable couch I’ve ever had! Be prepared to wait though. When I ordered mine it was supposed to take up to 3 months, but it took about 4 months. The customer service isn’t the best, it’s very hard to get in touch with them and don’t plan any vacations because you will find out they are delivering it the day before!
