kitschy kitchen with vintage modern mix of decor and white smeg fridge. / sfgirlbybay

hello! and hey, thanks to all you readers who followed me on good reads after my mention of it last week — can’t wait to see what you’re reading, too. so, this week i got a little bit kitschy — i don’t know what got into me, but i’ve got a batch of vintage portrait paintings arriving at super marché this month, straight off the ship from france, so perhaps that inspired this week’s friday finds. who knows what goes on in my head, but i hope you enjoy! have a great weekend!

xo, victoria

  1. i know this kitchen is very kitschy and over the top, but i love it nonetheless. doesn’t it look like a happy place to cook, with that vintage goddess watching over you? and i always love a good smeg!
  2. this is truly an eclectic shelf styling photographed by @carlaypage. i love the mix, from the vintage radio, camera, and books to the Moroccan trim up top enhancing it all. perfection.
  3. i quite like the vintage vibes of this pretty berlin apartment and i’m freakin’ kicking myself because a lifetime ago i had a very similar mid-century modern chair and ottoman, alas i passed in along with love to someone else to take home.
  4. a lone vintage portrait painting paired with a killer couch go a long way to add just the right amount of style to this simple room — the full tour of britt sisseck’s home is equally inspiring.
  5. this shelf styling from betsy burnham design is spot on, too. i love the mix of books (with color-coordinated spines!), ceramics, vintage paintings, and that sweet little donkey sculpture captured my heart.
  6. i love a clever use of dividing up rooms and this open room divider is nice because while it delineates the dining room from the kitchen, it still feels nice and open and doesn’t darken either space, and it acts as extra shelving for displaying collectible treasures!
  7. yet, another nice job of styling shelves, but it’s those vintage folding chairs that i fell for. they add a lot to a lonely little nook and wouldn’t they be fun used as a dining room ‘bench’?
  8. we’ve shared lynda gardener’s handiwork before, but it looks like she keeps on updating her decor (ahem, someone after my own heart) based on this peek into her design work from my Scandinavian home. love the vintage portrait and paper lantern.
