happy friday one and all. it’s been a weird week in the news between the spread of coronavirus and the political debates and honestly,  i’m ready just to curl up and read a good book and hide out in my little laguna beach bubble. but i do encourage you to get out and vote this coming super tuesday no matter your favorite candidate, and if you want to feel a little bit better about any upcoming travel plans you may have with this virus happening, i found this to be a very helpful read. beyond that, let’s just look at some pretty and perhaps quirky friday finds this week. have a peaceful weekend.

  1. i love everything about this charming guest bedroom. it’s kitschy to be sure, but cozy and inviting, too. the vintage lamp, crochet throw, travel poster and paintings remind me of some of the pensiones we stayed at in Sicily and have me hankering to go back.
  2. this is one unique dining room with it’s funky Queen Anne style table painted gray, a mix of Wire Bertoia chairs and that fabulous tile floor. all are unexpectedly paired together but that’s what i like best about it. and that painting adds the pièce de résistance.
  3. okay — this remodel is one you’re gonna watch if you’re not already. my friend and founder @jengotch bought a desert house and her shower makeover was designed with the help of another talented friend @nativesilver (aka stylist natalie shriver) and the result is simply genius. they used a bunch of existing in-stock tiles (to save money) in a wonderful color palette and thus created this incredibly cool shower tile pattern. bravo, ladies! oh, and jen has a new book coming out. more on that soon.
  4. deija studios Ochre yellow Pillow Slips are made from 100% stonewashed French linen that just gets softer with washing, but what i love even more about them is that they’ve styled them perfectly by pairing them with pink. it’s a pretty hard color combination to beat and seems like a super cheerful way to wake up each morning.
  5. i’ve shared a lot of inspiring ideas from Australian stylist @mrjasongrant before and what i love about his styling is that he’s constantly changing things up and his instagram feed is the proof in the pudding. have a look.
  6. i’ve had a crush on this pretty striped garden awning for ages now. and now that i have one very similar in my garden i’m thinking i need to copycat the sweet cactus garden they’ve created, too. i love this garden look!
  7. now, this is one very quirky kitchen with a lot going on, but like many European kitchens, i like this vibe. i think because their spaces are small they’ve thus got a lot on display, but i find it just adds to the charm. and a vintage painting in the kitchen is always something i love.
  8. well, how about this for a very charming artist’s studio space? complete with a handy bathtub big enough to wash all the paintbrushes you could possibly need to. or simply take a break from painting and have a nice bubble bath. brilliant.
