i’ve always been a big fan of pairing pale pink and chocolate brown — it’s like a Neopolitan sandwich sans the boring vanilla, and it’s rich and delicious looking. so when i landed on the holy grail of that color palette when i discovered Marie Olsson Nylander on instagram i found myself smitten. and then i visited her blog mo interior and found even more incredible images from her homes in both in sicily and sweden embracing these pretty colors. an entrepreneur, Interior designer, and antique lover, marie has a keen eye for vintage-inspired eclectic and unexpected interiors and i’m her newest fan! her villa in italy is stunning and unique — everything i love in a home and has me daydreaming about finding an old villa in sicily to fix up (this article always lingers in the back of my mind). maybe one day, or at least in my next life — but in the meantime, here’s a gorgeous glimpse into the pink & brown world of marie olsson nylander.

Fantastic
silently following your aesthetics all those years dear, thank you.
Wonder what is living in the high shag carpeting the first few photos. Otherwise a lovely post, as usual.
Pink my favorite! Beautiful room decoration idea.
I see some vanilla in every one of these pictures. That’s what makes the brown and pink work so well.
Those images look good enough to eat! I came across the charms of this colour combo purely by chance when I mixed and matched my bed linen. Since then, I’ve been smitten. And I agree with Jackie above – it’s the dash of vanilla that makes pink & brown so luscious.
I guess it is Neopolitan after all! :)
love this – is the brass lamp with the creamsicle shade vintage? it is so special.
I think so, but it’s here on her Instagram feed if you’d like to ask her:
