i’ll bet a lot of us are dreaming of the day we can finally get away and take one of our dream trips. we’ve got a lot of time to think about where we’d like to go next and top on my list for a while now is mexico city. and when i get there, one place i simply must visit is lardo. this mexico city culinary hot spot had me drooling for a spicy taste of mexico, so much so i had to microwave a trader joe’s tamale just to get through the rest of this post. lardo not only looks charming with its vine-covered entrance, but their food and baked goods look utterly amazing too. soon, people — soon! when we get to go, we’re going to look casually chic in a warm-weather ensemble of a gauzey poncho over a faded vintage tee, silky slip-on skirt, slingback sandals and one killer black hat (i had to have this hat — i’ve decided when this damn quarantine is over i’m going to be hat lady!). while you’re awaiting your table i suggest reading normal people by sally rooney — it’s the story of Connell and Marianne who at school pretend not to know each other but in private forge a strange and indelible connection, exploring the subtleties of class, the electricity of first love, and the complex entanglements of family and friendship — and coming soon to hulu.

I am so obsessed with Lardo… their bread, their shakshuka, the avocado, the pastries… dying to go back.
I can’t wait to go!!
Absolutely loved this restaurant when we were in Mexico in February. One of the best meals of our trip!
So excited to hopefully, try it one day soon! It looks so charming, too.
