for this week’s shop small, we’re headed to beautiful toronto — one of my very favorite cities (and my parent’s hometown!). we’re dropping in on bookhou, a charming shop run by founders and creative couple arounna Khounnoraj and john booth featuring handmade goods, showcasing their individual and collaborative work and a multidisciplinary studio that emphasizes natural handmade materials and small production pieces. arounna is an inspiring maker, teacher and author of the Punch Needle book and is currently exploring pattern and image in her textiles and sculptures. she’ll definitely inspire you to start experimenting with you own punch needle projects with maker kits available in their shop as well as all kinds of textile projects and online workshops as well. and john is currently working with form and structure in both painting, mobiles and furniture — like the beautiful stools featured here in the post. they are just starting to re-open their brick and mortar store and have curbside pick-up should you be in the toronto area, and happily for us their shop is always available for online shopping. for more inspiration be sure to follow @bookhou on instagram.

Hello from Toronto! As a long-time reader of your site (and Bookhou), I had no idea your parents were from here. Thanks for always sharing lots of colour and joy!
