sfgirlbybay's friday finds

weekend greetings, friends. what have you been up to? covid keeps hanging on so i’m still at home in lockdown, trying to remain healthy. i while away the hours here, reading, watching documentaries and writing my blog posts and that’s been all good, but i’m used to having a holiday in here somewhere right about now and since i’ve got nowhere to go, i think it’s time for a little time off from the blog and a wee staycation. normally, i should be in france shopping for super marché, but that trip’s been postponed. so a holiday at home it will have to be. i’ll be posting some ‘reruns’ while i’m ‘away’ so i hope you still discover some inspiration from some oldies but golden goodies. and i hope you get a little holiday of your own somehow. stay healthy and safe and i’ll be back soon!

xo, victoria

  1. i’ve been a long time admirer of marc jacobs’ peach art print by one of my favorite artists, ed ruscha. i saw that mister jacobs recently auctioned off some of his art collection — if only i had a couple of million handy to get myself this beautiful peach!
  2. this dreamy dining room is just everything inspiring to me. from the unique wall art installation to those gorgeous white iron chairs, to the pretty pottery it all comes together to form such a beautiful, soothing space — one where i’d love to host a few dinner parties.
  3. this fabulous india mahdavi-designed living space is the cover star of elle decor uk’s July issue and i’m thinking i need to track down a copy of that magazine because there’s bound to be more inspiration inside its pages. these tile floors, that bamboo furniture, and that stunning sofa are singing to me!
  4. this beautiful home in menorca styled by pete bermejo and photographed by Montse Garriga Grau looks like a place i’d love to stay if i could only get away. it’s simply sublime inside and i love the idea of this oversized ornate vintage painting popping up unexpectedly in the kitchen. have a look at the full tour.
  5. Australian stylist megan morton is always high on my radar when it comes to great design, and she recently posted these sweet little vintage pony vases with orchids popping out. there’s something just a little weird and juxtaposed about this which makes me love the look even more. quirky for the win.
  6. have you seen mylle pools yet? they’re definitely the most stylish inflatable swimming pools out there and since it’s screaming summer, i’m thinking one of these splish-splashing beauties needs to come home with all of us. they come in an assortment of great prints and colors, but be warned, they sell out fast!
  7. isn’t this just the dreamiest? it’s the showroom of rue vintage 74 in madrid, spain, a beautiful shop both online and this charming brick and mortar — another place to put on my list when we’re able to get the heck outta town again.
  8. i’ve got a mad crush on just about everything kai avent-deleon has going on (and its a lot!), and her home is at the top of that list, and most especially this room. but she’s also the founder of sincerely, tommy, a Lifestyle Concept Store and its adjoining cafe. and next comes eat & stay, a cozy bnb she’s working on and i can’t wait to see what creativity and style she brings to that!
