happy friday one and all. it’s been a good week for me — pretty productive, and got to see a good friend after months of covid quarantining, which lifted my spirits immensely. i’m also reading an amazing book caste: The Origins of Our Discontents, by isabel wilkerson who also wrote the warmth of other suns. i can’t recommend both of them more if you’d like to learn more about black history that is written beautifully. i really consider both books to required reading, but it won’t feel at all like a chore, just a way of understanding our world, and its divisions that much better. have a great weekend!

  1. i am not usually a plant person or one that likes a huge grouping of too many green things, but this little plant-filled corner featured on coco kelly makes my green heart go pitter-pat. i love the vintage glass cabinet repurposed as an inside garden oasis.
  2. i’m in love with this pretty vignette and even more so with this collection of rustic vases from chapter 101. they were inspired by the french landscapes of Provence and the kinds of ceramics made by French potters of the past. just sublime. visit chapter 101 for more.
  3. i recently discovered this incredible artist, Bela Silva — a Potter, painter, and sculptor, she’s a Lisbon-based artist who lives inside and out of Portugal, Brussels, and Belgium. i keep hunting for a copy of a beautiful book she put out a while back. this incredibly wild botanical print was part of it, so you can get a sense of why i must find more from bela silva!
  4. these beautiful vintage oil bottles featured in Côté Maison magazine are beautiful to look at, and simply perfect for displaying a single bloom or branch. we see them all over the french flea markets and elsie green has several in stock if you like the look, too.
  5. this lovely hearth is featured in on my modern house in an interview with british handbag designer Alison Lloyd of Ally Capellino. it’s a wonderfully inspiring tour of her Victorian flat in Dalston, where she discusses organized clutter and urban gardening — i think you’ll like it!
  6. if you’re any kind of reader like me, you’re going to love following @clumsy.words, aka Kathleen Crowley, on instagram. i find myself very in sync with her book reviews, and adore her creative book annotations — she even sells prints of them in her etsy shop.
  7. who doesn’t love a beautiful, blooming magnolia? this one captured by @ethanollie really caught my eye and i think it would make an excellent oversized print. @ethanollie, better known as kim ludy also runs maven collective — an amazing online vintage shop and i have found more than a few treasures from her — she’s got a great eye for more than big blooms!
  8. sigh, yet another inspiring design projects from leanne ford — i sincerely don’t think the woman sleeps. this is a sweet and petite little nook from a charming los angeles canyon home she gave new life to. for more, visit her online design portfolio.
