as we spend more and more time at home these days during the pandemic, i often look around and feel ‘ugh, too much stuff’. not that i don’t love my home, because i very much do, but man, do i have a lot of belongings! living lighter, in a very simple manner is possible, and not without style, mind you. living in this smaller cottage has taught me that i honestly just do not need so much of these things that surround me. my books — they’re not going anywhere, but some of the collectibles i hoard are bound for a new life elsewhere — possibly i’ll add my castoff vintage belongings to super marché. i just feel a little claustrophobic and realize i don’t need a knick-knack on every surface! these spaces inspire me, too — they show tasteful restraint in all the right places. time to do a little paring down, i’m afraid. i’m not saying it’s going to be easy, mind you — i love so much of what i’ve collected, but a little less won’t hurt me!

Simply Gorgeous!! It’s such a treat to read your blog as I can completely understand how you feel … Just the same , I try every weekend to shift things and “declutter” which only ends up either inside a cabinet or closet so I don’t see it rather than actually make it to someone’s home .. it’s such a process but I am determined as each year comes along to be with less and not hoard from city to city state to state as I have all these years .. Thank you, for sharing and your creativity!

Thank you so much, Nima. I hope you’ve found some de-cluttering inspiration here! :)
