back when we traveled (sigh) whenever i’d see someone galavanting around mexico city i’d get major FOMO. this place is very high up on my list of must-visits and now that i’ve discovered rosetta i want to go pronto-like. the food looks extraordinary and the lush, garden ambiance just so inviting. located in a charming old house in the Roma neighborhood, its cuisine is based on a deep respect for the Mexican ingredient — their Ravioles de ricotta, limón amarillo y tomillo limón are calling my name! everything on the menu sounds mouthwatering and lucky for us, they even have a beautiful cookbook! we’re going comfy casual, but chic this time around, with a stunning kimono jacket in case the mexico city evenings get cool, over a classic black tank paired with skinny legging pants, and to dress it up a bit we’ll add some sexy slides. on the plane ride, i suggest reading Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia to get you in the mood — with twists and turns on the classic gothic horror story that takes place in a haunted house in the Mexican countryside.

YES! CDMX is a must, and so close to SoCal by air. We walked by Rosetta (took a long gander at the interior) on our way to Por sempre vegana for amazing tacos. Its at Coahuila 169. So much art, history, culture. Bring good walking shoes, the traffic so bad that your feet and the metro beat any uber. We averaged 15,000 steps a day…..we called them taco steps…I ate so much great food and did not gain a pound in a week! Another tip…choose accomodations close to several different metro stops. From our place in Roma we could walk four blocks in three different directions to a pink, green or olive metro line stop. I have been planning a trip to Oaxaca after Covid passes…but CDMX calling my name again.
Wonderful! Thanks so much for sharing. I can’t wait to go one day soon!
that jacket and those greens! I have only spent about 24 hours in Mexico City! I want to go back!
i want that jacket!
Love your Wear This There series!
thank you!!
Went on an amazing trip to Mexico City with my Bestie 2 years ago and it feels like another lifetime! We had a wonderful dinner one night at Rosetta which also happens to be the name of her cat so we got a kick out of that. The food and service were perfect. The restaurant is beyond gorgeous in person. truly magical.
