hi guys, how’s everyone holding up? i’m feeling a tad fragile these days and am just hoping this pandemic is over soon! i need to travel, good company and converstion, and lovely meals out on the town. just a little in-person social interaction, please. but in the meantime, here we are, making the best of it and today’s friday finds feel a little bit like i’m trying to embrace the cozy aspects of staying home. i’m fortunate to have a lovely home to hide out in and i’m trying to make the most of that. here’s wishing you a wonderful weekend in your own homes.

xo, victoria

  1. this has to be one of the most incredible home libraries i’ve yet to see. that circular window and the way it opens out to such a beautiful view, the eames lounger, and all those delicious books just waiting to be read! i could spend days here. the whole home tour on in bed is pretty inspiring.
  2. i adore everything about this sweet little spot from @sumner_shop, a los angeles-based shop that specializes in stunning 20th century rare and unique antiques. this mirrored vanity is typical of their beautiful finds.
  3. can you imagine having this inspiring studio space to create art in? photographed by salva lópez it’s the studio space for contemporary Spanish artist Miquel Barceló in mallorca. the entire room is fab, but that ceiling is just too stunning.
  4. how about hunkering down for a delicious dinner in this cozy nook? it’s almost cave-like with its weathered patina but made wonderfully inviting with all those lovely cushions. apparently, it’s from a beautiful house in Mecklenburg, the ‘Alte Schule’ (The Old School) in Rensow, germany from @obsoleteinc.
  5. a fireplace within a fireplace? yes, please! the always brilliant interior designer leanne ford (yes, i keep sharing her work — yes, i’m an uber-fan) made this dreamy fireplace situation come true in a small echo park cabin. for the full tour, head to this post of mine from a few years ago.
  6. and yes, it’s a 2 for 1 — yet another fireplace from leanne. this one is a whimsical, storybook home she redesigned in santa monica canyon. i’d just about kill for a stone fireplace like this one. and i love how she offset all those rustic vibes with a disco-ball-looking pendant lamp. juxtaposition of the best kind.
  7. this is a super inspiring little credenza collection to study for future projects. there are so many interesting elements it may take you a while to dissect, but it will be worth it. from the very interesting artwork to the beautiful books, busts and sculptures it’s just fantastic.
  8. originally a warehouse for shoes, this dreamy space was given new life as the new york loft of my dreams by designer Daniela Jacobs of arc objects. one can only dream of ceilings this high and decorating around those fantastic architectural pillars. sigh, one day perhaps.

  1. Thanks for sharing that library, just the inspiration I needed for an upcoming project. That vinyl collection also had me buzzing, they are my type of people!!!
    Big big hugs.
Feeling you. It’s tiresome. I’m in a part of Australia that hasn’t been to badly affected yet my heart aches for the rest of the world. We will get through this xxx

  2. Hi Victoria! I’ve been following you for about 7 years and this is my first time commenting. I love the photo of the library! It’s giving me ideas on how to make my own library more inviting. Sending you warm thoughts and hope that you can get the vaccine soon so can maybe socialize a little more. Walks around my beautiful city of St. Petersburg, FL really help my mental state. I’m so glad you have a beautiful place to ride out the pandemic too. I am sure it’s extra rough to live alone but know your followers are always rooting for you and wishing you the best!

  3. Love the library! For a bookworm like me, that is heaven. I feel you, Victoria…to be alone during this time has to be excruciating. We all need social interaction and hugs every single day…I know you have a dog and I’m sure that is helpful but enough is enough. I miss restaurants so much and am so looking forward to getting the vaccine, but until that time comes, keep your chin up! We will get through this time and be doubly appreciative of friends, family, socializing, going to restaurants, traveling, etc.
