friday finds / sfgirlbybay

much like the last couple of weeks, this week’s friday finds are on the eclectic and colorful end of the spectrum. i don’t know what’s gotten into me, but maybe it’s summer! i’m just feeling bold statement-making looks these days. i’ve even added some playful new collections to marché recommends, ideal for the warmer holiday season. i hope you enjoy and have a bright and beautiful weekend!

xo, victoria

  1. i’ve been a long-time fan of Nathalie Lété, an artist who lives and works in Paris and i came across this fabulous hour tour of her home on the living agency. Nathalie’s abode is nothing if not whimsical and inspiring, much like her very playful artwork — for more, follow her on instagram.
  2. this is another home with a touch of whimsy — it’s the Historic Beachwood Canyon Home of actress hannah ware and her partner restauranteur Jonah Freedman. i love its mid-century modern vibes but it’s the unexpected, colorful touches (like the dining room wallpaper and chairs!) they’ve added that really caught my eye. check out the full tour on architectural digest.
  3. i’m very much in love with this powder room. designed by @tamsinjohnson, it’s such a dramatic and fun design with that bold turquoise wall paired with the dark marble backsplash, not to mention the cool art deco wall sconce and funky mirror. it’s all just so splendid together. and if you can’t get wild in a powder room, well then where can you!?
  4. i’ve never been a headscarf or a turban kinda girl, but i cannot get this pattern out of my mind. i’m teasing you with just the print, but it’s actually a pinup headband from one of my new favorite and very inspiring shops, la Double J out of milan. it’s called the Gumball Verde in Twill and i just had to have it! the fab print also comes in clothing and accessories, too!
  5. this is a sophisticated and yet very cozy little bedroom nook. it’s the berlin home of pr agency owner tanja demmerath, and although she says it’s still a ‘work in progress’ i love what she’s created thus far — the velvet Amanta Vintage seat by Mario Bellini is just a dreamy spot to idle away an afternoon with a good book.
  6. i guess i’m feeling all kinds of nostalgia this week because i really enjoyed this feature on living etc. on a revival of what they call havana modern. it reminds me a lot of my landlord’s 1929 spanish revival kitchen with it’s extra colorful pottery collections and bright red fridge. it’s always so cheerful and welcoming.
  7. i am so enamored with this dining nook, too, designed by my friend tiffany howell of night palm studios. her pairing of that pale aqua built-in banquette, coral-colored fringed chandelier, vintage portrait, and that house of hackney ZEUS Wallpaper in Eau De Nil is just the bee’s knees!
  8. this is such a unique color palette, but one that’s also a little nostalgic. it reminds me of a Neopolitan ice cream sandwich, right off the neighborhood ice cream truck! but it’s actually a 1918 Adobe home in Tucson, arizona photographed beautifully as always by anna malmberg. check out the full tour here.

  1. Thanks for the color Victoria. It’s cheerful, uplifting, but sophisticated too. I love it.
