greetings and happy friday, friends. i’m really looking forward to some quiet beach time this weekend. i’ve got a stack of good books i’m ready to dive into and the beach is probably my favorite reading spot. i’ve recently picked up sally rooney’s latest book, Beautiful World, Where Are You which i’m very excited about, as well as Fuzz: When Nature Breaks the Law, a new book by mary roach who is a hysterical science writer and researcher. it’s all about the curious behavior of ‘when human meets wildlife conflict’ and sounds not just fascinating but laugh-out-loud funny. enjoy this week’s friday finds and have a great weekend!

  1. this has to be one of the most charming kitchens ever. the pale turquoise smeg fridge is great of course, but the placement of the random and unexpected architectural pillar just makes my day. in fact, the entire instagram feed belonging to @heroldian_journal is pretty darn amazing. more on that next week.
  2. i’m such a huge fan of the society of wanderers. and this pretty pattern play is a big reason why. i love their playful prints and the mismatched textile collections they pull off so beautifully — both whimsical and full of joy is the way i’d put it.
  3. i love the freund von freunden blog and have for some time now. and that’s because they post the most inspiring interviews and home tours from all over the world. i love this one belonging to a creative couple in São Paulo, brazil but what i’d really like is to steal their killer credenza. now that’s a statement-making piece of vintage furniture one should pass down to generations (or send to me).
  4. once again Barcelona-based photographer salva lópez shares the most incredible interiors. i’d love to have a built-in bench like this, especially if it came with that beautifully tiled archway. check out his online portfolio and instagram feed for much more interior inspiration.
  5. i collect all kinds of terra cotta pots like this and the more unusual or uniquely shaped and weathered the better. but this isn’t someone’s potting shed — on no, instead, it’s actually a paris-based concept store containing both a hair salon and plant shop called what the flower. makes perfect sense — it’s all growing, both hair and plants.
  6. i’ve been seeing a whole lot of this kind of color-blocked kitchens and i have to say, in the right space, i think they’re pretty fabulous. if you had an older, mid-century modern kitchen from the 50’s or 60’s this could be a fun solution to dealing with dated wood paneling, giving it a modern, fresh update.
  7. ojai, california is one of my favorite weekend destinations and constantly opening new and wonderful shops and cafes. sara of the black and blooms blog took a visit there and created a wonderful city guide to ojai, including this visit to the very charming Tipple & Ramble (that tiled staircase!) who specialize in indoor and outdoor decor. can’t wait to check it out on my next trip.
  8. morocco has long been high on my list of dream getaways and a trip to el fenn boutique hotel in Marrakech is definitely where i’d like to stay. just their stunning patio alone is so serene and inspiring, i really look forward to exploring the entire space one day.
