it’s already time for friday finds — this week just flew by! i hope you all have some nice plans for the weekend. i’m learning to play mahjong with some friends and although it’s rather a complicated game, i quite like it! i’m also heading to L.A. for the weekend — some girlfriends are gathering for a ‘swap’ in which we all bring anything and everything we no longer need in our lives — clothes, books, knick-knacks, etcetera — and pass them along with love to each other. what doesn’t get swapped will go to the l.a. women’s shelter. it’s a clever and kind way to declutter! have a great weekend one and all.

xo, victoria

  1. i love this peek at the Williamsburg loft of creative couple Jessica Lynn Howell and Simon Lawrence Howell, the founders of lynn & lawrence, a company dedicated to the pursuit of creating the perfect beanie. you heard me right, somebody needs to take on this most admirable and necessary endeavor!
  2. let’s pretend, if just for this moment, that we live in a beautiful old chateau in the south of france, shall we? ouí, we shall. this is the very charming Château de Dirac featured on vide déco. when i’ve been in this area of Bordeaux i’ve seen places like this from a distance, but this home tour grants us a lovely glimpse inside!
  3. i love this little ‘shrine’ of collectibles featured on friends of friends. it’s the Mallorca home of photographer kate bellm — you might recall i’ve shared her very charming kitchen before. but if you happen to have a funky little alcove like this one, isn’t it a fun spot to put your favorite bits and baubles on display?
  4. this is such an idyllic and peaceful little patio space. it’s part of a former fish warehouse has been converted into a secluded getaway, and a quite modern townhouse called the addresses in the south of Portugal. i’m craving a trip back to Portugal and should i get there one day soon, i’d love to have a stay here. you can follow them on instagram for more.
  5. i can never get enough of architectural archways and this one in a small studio apartment in the heart of Rome has a lovely little peekaboo into a freshly painted green ceiling in the dining nook. by painting the walls inside it makes the arch stand out even more and i quite like the effect. for the full tour, visit remodelista.
  6. this is such a sunny little display of house plants, books and collectibles — it just makes me feel so cheerful. it’s a pretty home photographed by Jonas Ingerstedt for elle decor Sweden so pop over to his website if you’d like to see the whole very colorful home tour.
  7. this rustic, vintage filing cabinet is another great spot for plant and succulent clippings, this time belonging to Melbourne-based stylist and decorator Lynda Gardener featured on hunter & folk. she’s simply fabulous if you’ve yet to check her out — follow her on instagram for more styling inspiration.
  8. they just don’t make doors like they used to, and this one has such great bones. i love the geometric frames on the glass door. in my old house, i wanted glass doors to replace the very crappy doors that were there when i moved in so i found some great vintage glass doors at the salvage yard. with a little sanding and elbow grease they fit perfectly, so keep that in mind for your next home improvement plan. life is too short for boring doors.
