friday finds, a pastel color palette / sfgirlbybay

we’re back with the first friday finds of 2022 and i’m apparently still feeling quite colorful. the palette of these finds, however, is a more subdued range of pastel shades (with a few bold additions), but overall i really love the small additions to these rooms that make them so special. also, i really wanted to say thank you for the very warm welcome back to the blog, and also for the really positive response to what i think will be a new ongoing series, inspired by a song. it means a lot to have your appreciative feedback. have a great weekend everyone and see you on monday!

xo, victoria

  1. i just love the clean look of this charming kitchenette and bar featured on the design files. the wine rack is pretty genius and so uncluttered looking, and i always love a smeg fridge. the bar and barstools are so great and what finishes it off perfectly is that sweet small painting by the artist who inhabits this charming space, ash holmes.
  2. this has long been a favorite kitchen of mine and it’s the fluted, translucent fronting they used for the cabinets called reeded glass that makes it so special. you get that lovely hint of dishware behind the glass and the open shelves are filled with small pops of color. organized perfection.
  3. this is another really pretty bit of open kitchen shelving and the styling is spot-on. i love the shape of those vintage bottles and then it all comes together with those bright little serving bowls. it just looks so minimalist but not without loads of charm. i love it.
  4. on the brighter side, this is such a great mix of colorful handpainted ceramic serving pieces, and the instagram by @lateliersophierieu is entitled ‘morning coffee’ which to me looks like such a cheerful, upbeat beginning to the day. i love mismatched ceramic collections like this one!
  5. this is yet another kitchen i’ve long admired. it’s again very minimalist but there’s a quirkiness to it i adore. obviously, those floor tiles are smashing as are the pale pink walls, but the unexpected little japanese ‘koinobori‘, or carp windsocks hanging as art just make it all just sublime.
  6. this living room has such a soothing pastel color palette. i love that it’s quite modern feeling but the soft colors make it feel so warm and inviting. i’m still a huge fan of boucherouite rugs like hers and the unique color and patterns they add to a room. i may need to change my living room rug up!
  7. jordan ferney of oh happy day! has always been a wizard with color, but these vintage card table chairs she’s reupholstered in pastel velvets just take the cake! i spotted them photographed by @katesjordon for a feature in domino magazine and couldn’t be more in love. plus they fold up, so even if you just leaned them against a wall, they’d look brilliant. bravo, jordan!
  8. and lastly but not least, this is another well-styled vignette i really like the look of. i’ve always loved these louis poulsen Panthella table lamps and the art collection from the poster club is really paired beautifully with the collections styled here. just so simple, but très chic.

  1. Happiness! Your blog inspires and is a beautiful escape that I am always looking forward to seeing!

  2. The sunlight tableware pulled at me – I think in a different year it would make me plan a trip to somewhere sunny.

  3. So pretty!! And – late to the comment game (luddite alert! I don’t know how to comment from my phone) LOVED the song post. Such a fun thing to do! and see!
