it’s been a pretty horrendous week that i probably don’t need to go into too deeply here — i think you know what i mean, but i’m so moved by the bravery of Ukrainian people and i can’t imagine how devasting this war is for them. if you want to do what you can to help, please consider donating what you can. i chose UNICEF to help send lifesaving support for children and families under threat. and now, it almost seems trivial, but since it’s what you come here for, i’ve gathered some friday finds to boost our moods and keep us feeling positive. it’s a lot of layered print and pattern and bright cheerful colors. i hope you enjoy them. stay safe and hopeful.

xo, victoria

  1. have you had a look at coco kelly’s new pop-up shops hosted every other month in her Seattle studio (and online) called Six Stories; Six because there are six pop-ups throughout the year, and stories because each one tells a new ‘story’. this latest is called modern hacienda and it’s dreamy! follow her on instagram to stay up to date on the latest arrivals.
  2. i’ve always loved a good chaise lounge. this one from La Casa de Carolina Herrera Báez’s home in madrid featured on architectural digest espana is an amazing vintage outdoor lounger but it looks tres chic inside with upholstered cushions in pink. those tile floors are quite magnificent, too. for the full fab tour, visit architectural digest espana.
  3. i’m still loving the idea of these sweet kitchen cabinet curtains to cover up the ‘unsightlys’. this striped cafe-type curtain on rings is awfully darling and paired with the green and white checkboard floors it’s just smashing. love the open shelving with their lovely collectibles, too. here are some more looks if you like these cabinet curtains, too.
  4. i quite like the simple but very stylish look these ‘stripes’ give to this pottery. i think it could be a manageable DIY, even for me! it just adds a bit of flair to the already beautiful terracotta pot, and as it weathers, i’ll bet it gets even better.
  5. now i’ll admit, this kitchen is over-the-top pattern play, but isn’t it amazing? i love the geometric tile pattern with that floral wallpaper! and the smeg fridge kind of simplifies the look, giving it a pop of white. the exposed beams bring yet another interesting and warm texture to the kitchen, along with that great rustic farm table.
  6. here’s some more pattern play — this time in the bedroom. i love the mix and mismatched striped throws on the bed along with the simple, tone-on-tone ikat print euro pillows. the striped rug adds another element of pattern and so does the rattan roofing. quite a tropical vibe and a nice spot to take a nap on a warm spring day.
  7. this is a fun and rather whimsical vintage-modern mix and a charming little bar cart with its rattan basket — it’s designed by Hugo Alvar Henrik Aalto, who was a Finnish architect and designer. i love the addition of the retro lamp with their little cocktail set-up and the white shag rug is cozy and fun, too. it’s a pool Cabana in palm beach, florida so what could be more fitting?
  8. i’ve just discovered upton — a Southern California-based design studio that creates high-quality artwork and goods for the home with some wonderful prints. i love this bold print from their canvas collection (it’s called The Briton). their graphic tote bags are pretty great, too.
