color story: decorating with not so boring brown / sfgirlbybay

poor brown. it can unfairly get such a bad rap. they say it’s boring, dull and passe, but i disagree, strongly! brown is earthy, bold and rich with a full range of woodsy tones that tend to make us feel really cozy, warm, and welcome. i think it’s finally getting its due though because i’m seeing quite a bit of brown in design lately. from beautiful handmade ceramics and textiles, to open beamed ceilings brown is getting some respect. this brown isn’t your grandma’s old kitchen cabinets but instead has a much more modern edge to it. so this week’s color story is celebrating no so boring brown.

  1. So pretty! I saw the most beautiful tan and brown Ralph Lauren English rool arm sofa of Marketplace this morning–for free!! Made me want to pitch everything and start anew with brown and black and cream. I could never be that disciplined, though–pink forevah!
