a quick and easy bathroom makeover.
with adding just a few new, and vintage, design elements i made over my petite loo. let's have a look.
besides painting my bathroom when i moved in (almost three years ago! the shame!) i haven’t done very much to it. i’d hung some vintage seascapes, but i grew tired of them — as though beach scenes were a bit overkill for a beach cottage, if you get my drift. so when i found this vintage moroccan rug at a recent re-do market in dana point (the next one is september 24th — mark your calendars) it gave me the boost i needed to makeover my little loo.
once i placed the rug, i could see what was needed to complete the picture, and i moved some of my vintage portrait paintings into the bathroom, changed out the old chrome bathroom hardware for some matte black ones, added new turkish bath towels in a calming gray that i hung from s-shaped hooks on the towel rod, and i hung some spare toilet paper in a woven shopping tote i had laying around (i stole that idea from this post, that you may recall). you can find vintage rugs like this all over the web — from revival rugs, etsy shops, and chairish, and vintage paintings from those sites, as well as elsie green. i’ve rounded up the rest of the resources i used just below, so if you like this look, i hope it’s helpful! i like the results — it feels fresh and light and just the quick, inexpensive, and easy makeover i needed. for more home decor resources, you can always visit my shopping go-to’s.
