i've got some unique homes from all over today, from germany to finland and france and then all the way back home stateside in los angeles. let's roam.
it’s been one of those weeks where i can barely look at the news. i could use some nuggets of good news, or at least interesting and uplifting ideas about the world, so while i’m working i often listen to podcasts. this week’s highlight was oprah’s chat with daniel h. pink, author of a whole new mind why right-brainers will rule the future. a pretty interesting theory and as a right-brain kind of thinker, i was happy to hear about it. okay, onto design ideas — we’re all over the map quite literally today. x, v.
double drat — i was not in france this january for maison&objet’s paris design week 2023. well, actually, i’ve never been, but at least we can visit vicariously via instagram posts and this visit on milk decoration. one of the show favorites was this installation — a 19th-century painted faux marble bathtub draped with fabric from the a new collection by @lamaisonpierrefrey, a savonnerie carpet, an embroidered stool by madeline casting, and all the remaining vintage pieces by atelier vime editions, one of my favorite instagram accounts for all things french.
