friday finds ~ volume 30.
today's finds include quite a few artists' home studio spaces, and some unreal renovations — all of them inspiring.
i’m very ready for the weekend. i’m reading a hilarious book i can’t wait to get back to by john boyne (actually, i highly recommend all of his books) called the echo chamber about the absurdity of social media and our cell phones (“at once, a gateway to other worlds — and a treacherous weapon in the hands of the unwary, the unwitting, the inept.”) and it’s got me literally laughing out loud. it also touches a nerve here and there, which you might imagine, considering my career path. i never chose all the social media aspects when i began writing this blog in 2006, but alas, here’s where we have ‘evolved’. i very often want to jump this ship and have deleted facebook and twitter and never got into tiktok, so at least there’s that. anyway, it’s a great book and food for thought. do have a great weekend, everyone. x, v.
this is one very inspiring renovation featured on remodelista. it’s the remodel of a historic 1863 mansion in haarlem, just 20 minutes west of amsterdam. i find their kitchen color palette so soothing — the pale pink tile paired with shades of sea green is so fresh and clean looking. the entire home is pretty inspiring, so have a look, and should you happen to be looking for a photoshoot location, they also rent rooms via the location agency house of bullet.
