VICTORIA! What a thing to find in my inbox...I’m emotional. Thank you so much — your support and encouragement through the years means more than you know. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love Ali! and thank you for introducing her fantastic style and work to me ages ago. I went on a hunt for flat thumb tacks after your mood board post and it reminded me again after seeing this post today @studiocartashop my favorite stationery brand is now carrying beautiful Italian thumb tacks that will go perfectly with Ali's pasta! and your post! https://www.instagram.com/studiocartashop/
This is just fabulous! Thank you for introducing me to her. Moodboards are my favourite thing. They always pick me up and I do them frequently but not as much as in the Flickr mosaic making days. Will follow both her accounts on Instagram and will check out the above mentioned studiocartashop!
Thanks, Yvonne! I used to do them on flickr all the time, too. But I really love how tactile Ali's are, with read paper and pushpins! I'm going to try that next. :)
I used huge white foam boards and then made collages with print-outs from Pinterest and Insta and magazine cutouts. The thumbtacks add a retro touch. And these huge thin styrofoam things are so versatile and they can easily be stacked one in front of another without taking up too much space or ruin walls in rented apartments
I use foam boards too! Something about making them IRL helps me see the images in a different way — I can’t explain it but it’s not quite the same when I do them digitally!
Yes. And the paper adds to it. I mix in Pantone postcards and William Morris postcards and love how I can change in between the lightweight boards according to my mood. I make them for travels and interior ideas. Could make them all day tbh....
👏 Ali has been a long time inspiration of mine — love seeing her get recognition. 🍅🍝🍷
So glad to hear it! She’s such an inspiration!

You're welcome! ;)
And thanks for the intro to Studio Carta! What a beautiful shop. @alilabelle - it's right up your alley!
Okay obsessed
Another fan here! I could try for 100 years and never come up with one beautiful mood board like Ali’s!
Yay! And I know - I keep missing the mark! :)
Totally get the girl crush. Now I have one, too!
Ha! I knew she was contagious! :)

All good ideas!
Tactile is always better!
Love that idea, Yvonne. I have a giant bulletin board, but I like the idea of foamcore. Thanks!
Love this! I love her new substack, it is brilliant and so fun. She deserves all the fan girling, I am one too!
She does indeed! Her Substack is my personal favorite! Not only beautiful but inspiring and useful!
I love the confidence and carefree style every one of these images exudes. The colors, textures, fonts! An absolute feast for the eyes.
Thanks so much, Sarah! Ali has an incredible eye for detail!
