seashells in decor are always a good idea, while remaining mindful of mother nature, only collecting those long past their natural lives.
seashells, found all on their own in nature while beachcombing, are always quite a lovely surprise, but i love coming across a vintage specimen from the sea on dry land, too. i once found a delicate vintage pink sea fan at a flea market in the french countryside — how on earth did it get there, i wonder? it got me thinking about decorating around the seashell motif. in small doses, i think they’re a unique addition to any decor — almost like a small, unusual, and delicate sculpture.
