an austin bachelor’s pad.
a slew of styling ideas and resources for a modern aesthetic.
as i mentioned a few posts back, i’m delving back into interior design profession (or at least sticking my toe in the waters), and one of the projects i’m working on is helping a friend decorate his new bachelor pad in austin, texas. i also realized i’ve gained quite a few new readers of the male species here on substack (welcome!! hurrah!!), so i thought it might be beneficial to share the very masculine and modern space i’m designing for my dear friend alex; along with some design resources for getting the look.
alex currently lives in new york city, so in order to work together remotely, we’ve been using pinterest. i created a private pinboard for us, and it’s been working out really well. in fact, he said he felt like i was ‘seeing into his soul’ which made me laugh, but also really happy that i was able to get a sense of the vibe he was going for even though we’re long distance designing. he can pin and share with me what looks he prefers; we comment back and forth, and i, in turn, pin what i think he’d like.
