wear this there: clamato paris.
pardon, no reservations, madame. but when in paris, one must not miss clamato. it's so very well worth the wait.
we’re headed back to paris for this week’s wear this there. pardon moi, but i’ll never get enough of paris. this time we’re going somewhere i’ve actually had the pleasure of dining, the very charming clamato, part of the septime family and one of paris’s best new neighborhood cafes. they don’t take reservations, but never fear — drop by and put your name on the list and then head over to their sister restaurant’s wine bar la cav du septime and have a glass of wine (or two, as it may take a bit) while you await your table at clamato. it will be well worth the seafood extravaganza you’ll enjoy in a cozy neighborhood vibe. i suggest shared plates so that you can sample lots of their amazing fresh fish and shellfish dishes caught directly from local french fishing ports, including, of course, clams and yummy oysters.
we’re going to get our best nautical-themed ensemble on, without going too overboard. pairing a fitted peacoat and some flaired jeans with a vintage-inspired tee, and a soft sweater — we are headed into fall in paris so we want to be cozy. i’m adding a warm beanie , and some comfy chelsea walking boots — we like to walk in paris at all times, especially to brunch or dinner. before heading over to clamato, i suggest reading a moveable feast by ernest hemingway to get you in the mood. published posthumously in 1964, it remains one of ernest hemingway's most beloved books. a classic memoir of paris in the 1920s, filled with irreverent portraits of other ex-pat pals and fond recollections of his early days as a writer. it’s a literary feast, evoking the exuberant mood of paris after WWI and the youthful spirit, creativity, and unquenchable enthusiasm for hemingway’s beloved city of lights.
